FWN Fellows 2011

Leah is thrilled to be the first Fellow for the Filipina Women’s Network. Through this role, she hopes to nurture deeper ties with the Filipino community through her service, as well as be instrumental in helping the women find their voices, as she develops her own.
Leah was born and raised in Manila and has lived and worked in San Francisco since 2000 and is currently with Korn/Ferry International. She has worked in various project management and administrative roles in the corporate and nonprofit sectors and also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras from 2006-2008. Leah has an undergraduate degree in social sciences from Ateneo de Manila University with a minor in Hispanic studies and is fluent in Tagalog, Kapampangan and Spanish.
Charity Espiritu is a second generation Filipina American, who grew up in the Outer Mission neighborhood of San Francisco, California. A former Fulbright Hays Scholar to the Philippines and Asia Pacific Leadership
Program Fellow at the East-West Center in Hawaii, she speaks fluent Tagalog and is passionate about women's participation and leadership in public policy. Charity earned her Master's degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and received her Bachelor's degree in Development Studies at University of California at Berkeley. Most recently, she worked as a Fiscal and Policy Analyst at the Legislative Analyst's Office in Sacramento, California. Charity loves to travel and considers herself a global Pinay.
