Hi everyone,



Can you believe it?  It's our 7th year of getting all of you, awesome Pinays, to come together once a year in October - a most apt time as we celebrate Filipino Heritage Month.  SAVE the Dates: Oct 7-10, 2010 at Bally's Las Vegas.

Join us once again and rekindle relationships, develop new friendships and learn from each other as we make a mark in the world's workplace.

We're finally getting the summit off the ground, talking with potential speakers and visiting different hotels, I am happy to announce that registration for the 7th Filipina Leadership is now open.  AND we will be in Las Vegas!  With the help of Gloria Caoile, she encouraged us to consider Las Vegas, Nevada, an area that has seen tremendous migration of Filipinos for work, retirement or excitement.



Considering the state of the economy, we have worked very hard to keep the cost low, while at the same time making sure we can put on the best summit.  Our summit rates have been the same since 2007.

 

This year, we will connect you with our sister organizations from all over the world.  If you know of Filipina women organizations in Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and anywhere our Pinay sisters are….let us know and let's hear what they are doing to advance Filipina women the workplace worldwide.  Let's get them to the Filipina Summit.  Our theme this year is "Filipina Women of the World: A Meeting of Leaders".

It has been thrilling to hear the exciting things you all are doing --  this summit is for you to share your accomplishments.  The summit also seeks to answer the larger question of what it means to lead and to live a mindful and meaningful life in our adopted countries in our day and age, and how technology, including social media, has changed our day-to-day existence.



The best way to stay in touch is either through FilipinaWomen on Twitter (@ replies are always welome) or the FWN Facebook page. Both are checked regularly.



While technology is useful for some communication, there is nothing quite like in-person contact. So please stay in touch - pick up the phone, snail mail, or email (the most low tech of social media!).  Okay, make a commitment to join us....you can register here now. 

Get your flights and hotel reservations (Bally's Las Vegas) squared away and don't let this opportunity to be among awesome Pinays pass you by.

There will be an array of panels and speakers sharing insights on many subjects, and also time for small group interaction where you can get to know one another and develop connections.  

If you would like to be considered as a volunteer speaker, we are developing a RFP for speakers, so watch our email announcements.  We also would love it if you would like to be part of the Summit Steering Committee.
