Filipinos In Film: Raising Awareness about Diabetes with "Two Wheels And a Dream"

Behind #TwoWheelsAndaDream is Filipina executive producer Jenasi Magpantay, Filipina creative producer Emma Francisco, Filipina associate producer and FWN Member Valerie Garcia Hong, a documentary film about Filipino Americans cycling 600 miles from San Diego to San Francisco to raise awareness to Type 1 Diabetes and the power of the human spirit.

Two Wheels and A Dream is about a man named Deejay and his determination to bike ride 600+ miles from the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA this winter, despite being Type 1 diabetic and obese.

In just the first month of Deejay's cycling training, the sharing of his progress on social media had moved a handful of non-cyclists to buy bikes for riding, inspired dozens of experienced cyclists to join him in his training, and attracted hundreds of people to follow his posts on Facebook.

Other Ways You Can Help Us Make This All Happen:

1. If you or anyone you know would let us host a fundraiser event at your home or a nice venue, please let us know!

2. Deejay will need the best gear and winter attire if he is going to survive the ride up to the SF. Thus, we appreciate any in-kind donations!

3. If you are a member of an organization, please spread the word with everyone in your organization. We would be more than happy to attend your org. meeting and talk more about our film project with everyone!
