Nina D. Aguas (Global FWN100™ '13) and Mona Lisa Dela Cruz (Global FWN100™ '16) appointed as Board of Trustees Executive Chairman and CEO of Insular Life
The Board of Trustees of Insular Life approved several appointments to its top management post and in the membership of the Board of Trustees, effective January 1, 2018. Nina D. Aguas (Global FWN100™ '13) was appointed Executive Chairman of the Board of Trustees. She was Chief Executive Officer from January 2016 to December 2017. Succeeding Aguas as CEO is Mona Lisa B. de la Cruz (Global FWN100™ '16), formerly President and Chief Operating Officer.
Margaret Lapiz (Global FWN100™ 2013) to be honored at the UC Davis Aggie Alumni Awards Ceremony
Margaret Lapiz (Global FWN100™ 2013) is the recipient of the Outstanding Alumnus/a Award, which is given to an alumnus contributing significantly to their communities and most specifically to the university. Lapiz will be recognized by the Cal Aggie Alumni Association for her contributions in medicine to the Hispanic community. She founded Prep Medico, which focuses on supporting medical professionals who specialize in assisting Hispanic patients. Additionally, she created the Lapiz Family Scholarship Fund to support children of agricultural workers who are attending or will attend college.
San Francisco School Board chooses Hydra Mendoza-McDonnell (U.S. FWN100™ '09, Global FWN100™ 13) as President for 2018-2019
The San Francisco Board of Education on January 9 unanimously elected its Vice President Hydra Mendoza-McDonell to replace Shamann Walton as president for the 2018-19 school year.Walton nominated Mendoza-McDonell, who is serving her third consecutive term on the school board since first winning the city-wide bid in 2006.
